2005-2006 Awards

The Annual Awards Banquet for the 2005-2006 season was held at the St Boniface Golf Course on Saturday, April 8, 2006.

Guest Speaker Jack Sasseville talked about the successes of cross country skiing in Manitoba in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Team Hardwood (where he's the Nordic Development centre Head Coach), and some of the things we could do to lead towards success in the future. He also presented a slide show from the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino.

These three Windsor Park Nordic Centre long-sleeve T-shirts were taken to Canmore  by John Anthony and Lesley Ball during their vacation there in March. Almost the entire National Team was in Canmore at the time to attend a post-Olympics parade and presentation. Lesley was able to arrange for the National Team athletes to autograph the T-shirts. In the fall, CCSAM will randomly select 3 clubs from our 22 2005-2006 member clubs (the selection will be weighted by the number of members in each club), and give each of those clubs a T-shirt. photo_NationalTeamAutographedT-shirts.jpg (70225 bytes)
